Life as a Stone Quarry
The site began as a working stone quarry. Its rock walls and excavated landscape became the foundation of the lake visitors know today.

- 1950
The Quarry Becomes a Lake
According to the park’s recorded history, a powerful spring flooded the quarry. A large rock-crushing machine remained behind as the water rose.
- 1980
A New Chapter for Fantasy Lake
Doye Sherrill purchased the quarry and surrounding land, later developing the property into a scuba diving recreation and training park.
